  KTGY Gives More than 1,200 Books to New Elementary School in Madera, Calif. to Fill Empty Library Shelves
Award winning KTGY GROUP, INC., Architecture and Planning donated more than 1,200 books to the newly opened John J. Pershing Elementary School in Madera, Calif. The school, which was built to reduce overcrowding at two other area elementary schools, opened in August 2007 with an empty library. KTGY’s generous donation helped to fill Pershing’s school library. This is just one of many community service projects that KTGY has recently participated in including Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, HomeAid OC and CHOC/Disneyland Resort Walk to name just a few.

Award-winning KTGY GROUP, INC., Architecture and Planning, has received finalist recognition for three of its projects in the Builder’s Choice Design & Planning Awards competition, the housing industry’s most prestigious design awards program. Royal Court in Morgan Hill, Calif. received recognition in the Single Family Detached Product category. Nuevo Amanecer Apartments in Pajaro, Calif. is recognized in the Affordable Housing Community category. The Lofts at Playa Vista is also a finalist in the category of Best Attached Housing Project Mid Rise 4 to 7 Stories. To commemorate the winning projects, an awards show will be held at The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C. in October 2007 and be featured in the October issue of Builder magazine, the official magazine of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Greg Lyon, a principal and lead retail designer with award-winning KTGY GROUP, INC., Architecture+Planning in Santa Monica, Calif., was invited by Retail Traffic magazine to participate as a judge for this year’s Superior Achievement in Design & Imaging (SADI) awards competition. The SADI Awards, now in its 18th year, is a prestigious awards program that recognizes outstanding architectural achievement in retail environments. The winners will be announced in the September issue of Retail Traffic and will be presented with awards at a special ceremony. Selected to Design On-Campus Housing at University of California, Irvine
Award winning KTGY GROUP, INC., Architecture and Planning announced today that it has been selected by American Campus Communities, Inc. (NYSE:ACC) to begin the design development of up to 4,000 on-campus beds at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). The multi-phase development project will be located on up to five separate land parcels on the East Campus of UCI and will target a silver or higher certification under the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED rating system. KTGY and American Campus Communities recently completed the Vista del Campo and Vista del Campo Norte projects totaling 3,000 beds on the UCI campus. Award-winning KKE Architects, Inc., headquartered in Minneapolis, with offices in Pasadena; Las Vegas and Irvine, Calif., announced today the hiring of well-known industry veteran John G. Deenihan, AIA as Principal and Director of Operations for its rapidly growing Pasadena office operations, which now approaches 70 people. With more than 35 years of experience in architecture and interior design, Deenihan was most recently a Principal and Director, Retail Studio for Rothenberg Sawasy Architects, Inc. in Los Angeles and was responsible for establishing the company’s Beijing office in 2002. Deenihan will also be responsible for helping to develop the Pasadena office's diverse portfolio and augmenting KKE's involvement in the China marketplace. Hodgdon Miank Construction Begins Construction on $6.4 Million Medical & Professional Office Development in Lake Elsinore, Calif.
Omni West Group Inc. of Laguna Hills has awarded Hodgdon Miank Construction, Inc. the contract to build The Plaza at Lakeview Medical & Professional Center, a new $6.4 million project situated in the master-planned community of Canyon Estates in Lake Elsinore. The project, which has recently broken ground, features two upscale 33,000-square-foot two-story buildings and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2008. Previously, Flynn served as senior vice president/director of commercial, retail and entertainment projects for a design firm in Orange, Calif.
