January Records Worst Monthly Loss since 1974; EmploymentCrossing Accelerates Active Job Postings (2009-02-08)
The US unemployment rate has crossed 7.6% last month, the highest it’s been in nearly 34 years. The US economy lost 598,000 jobs in January, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics report for the month. Fortunately, EmploymentCrossing, one of the leading job boards in the world, was able to post over 200,000 jobs last week in US alone, a terrific effort indeed, considering the country’s current job market. The job site is now revving its own workforce to generate as many job postings as it can in order to relieve the unemployed of their present plight.
White House Forecasts More Job Losses this Year; EmploymentCrossing Posts a Staggering Number of Jobs in a Week (2009-01-20)
The White House predicted that the US economy would shed more than 200,000 jobs a month in 2009, but expressed hopes of a robust economic growth in the coming two years. EmploymentCrossing, one of the leading job boards in the world, seconds the forecast saying that job cuts will most likely increase in the face of growing recession this year, but with right efforts put in, jobs will grow steadily in due course. The online job research institution was able to post 309,380 jobs last week, a terrific effort indeed, considering the country’s current job market. The job site is now increasing its own workforce to generate as many job postings as it can in order to relieve the unemployed of their present plight.
