65,000-Plus New York Jobs on EmploymentCrossing; Department of Labor Reports Show Slight Increase in the State’s Job Count (2008-07-22)
EmploymentCrossing (www.employmentcrossing.com) now lists more than 65,000 jobs in New York. According to the state labor department’s latest report, New York’s private sector employment increased over the month by 4,200, the first-ever increase in the last five months. However, the overall unemployment rate in the state also increased from 5.2% in May to 5.3% in June, its highest level since December 2004.
