KTGY Group is providing architectural design services for a new 183,000 sq. ft. mixed-use student housing building to be developed by Irvine-based Hanover Pacific, LLC at the Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) in Pomona, Calif. Designed to LEED Silver specifications, the 3.3-acre project is a public/private partnership with the city's Redevelopment Agency, Vehicle Parking District, and Hanover Pacific, along with the support of Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU). KTGY’s Principal Ken Ryan has been invited to participate in the Orange County Chapter’s Building Industry Association (BIA) and Urban Infill Committee and Asset Opportunities Group's program, “Creating a Community within a Community: Neighborhood Spotlight: La Floresta Brea," on Thursday, June 2, 2011. La Floresta is a multi-generational, mixed-use community that offers new housing opportunities, jobs and amenities on a prominent urban infill site in north Orange County. Construction has started on Pottery Court Apartment Homes, a new high-quality, pedestrian-oriented apartment community in Lake Elsinore, Calif., developed by BRIDGE Housing and designed by KTGY Group. The new residential community offers 113 apartment homes ranging in size from one- to three-bedroom units for working families earning between 30 and 50 percent of the area median income. KTGY is the architect for Diane's Beachwear's first store in Arizona, which will open at the Scottsdale Quarter in early March 2011. The 1,200 sf flagship store represents the 19-store chain's debut outside of California. Skyline Development and Construction of Norco, Calif., is the general contractor. Diane's Beachwear has a large selection of mix and match separates, cover-ups, accessories, and sportswear. Some of Diane's stores now carry "Kid's Beachwear" and "Men's Beachwear" to suit the ultimate beachwear family. Three KTGY Principals Manny Gonzalez, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, CAASH, Rohit Anand, AIA, NCARB, and David Senden have been invited to participate in the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Orlando, Florida, the housing industry’s largest annual light construction trade show. The event will be held on January 12-15, 2011 in Orlando, Fla., at the Orange County Convention Center and will feature a variety of educational programs focused on the needs and trends of the housing industry.  KTGY Designers Win Award for 1.75-Ton Canned Food Cheshire Cat at 3rd Annual Canstruction Design/Build Competition at South Coast Plaza (2010-09-23)
KTGY wins "Best Use of Labels" Award in Orange County’s 3rd Annual Canstruction design/build competition at the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif., with its 1.75-ton Cheshire Cat, made entirely of canned food items and grinning from ear to ear. Nearly 6,500 Trader Joe’s canned food items were used to design this very colorful, happy, five-foot tall CATstruction. The Canstruction design/build competition serves as a canned food drive to support the Orange County Food Bank, which services more than 500,000 Orange County residents that are food insecure. KTGY Group received a Gold Nugget award from the Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC) for design work on three new Craftsman-style Habitat for Humanity homes recently completed in Yorba Linda. KTGY received the Gold Nugget Building Industry Community Spirit Award's "Grand Award," which recognizes various philanthropic efforts made by the building community on behalf of the less fortunate.
