KTGY Principals Ken Ryan and Manny Gonzalez, AIA, LEED AP have been invited to speak at the Annual Building Industry Association of Southern California’s Building Industry Show (BIS) 2011 on November 9-10 at the Long Beach Convention Center. On November 9, Ryan will moderate a panel on "The New Reality of Master Planned Communities," from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.; and Gonzalez will be a speaker at the session, "The Consumer Speaks; Are You Listening?" from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

KTGY-designed Homes for Habitat for Humanity of Orange County Celebrate Opening (2009-11-20)
KTGY designed and completed Habitat for Humanity of Orange County's first homes built in Yorba Linda, Calif. KTGY has been committed to working with Habitat for Humanity throughout California. Recently, KTGY was called upon to develop the next series of homes for Habitat for Humanity in northern California, which will be going after LEED Platinum status. Last year, KTGY designed and assisted with the building of Habitat for Humanity Orange County's four homes in Anaheim on East Julianna Street.

National Accolades for Affordable Workforce Housing Community Design by KTGY (2009-02-09)
KTGY GROUP has received national recognition for the design of Nuevo Amanecer Apartments, an affordable, workforce housing community in Pajaro, CA developed and built by South County Community Builders of Gilroy, CA. KTGY’s distinguished design maintains the sense of community and interaction among the residents, including patios and balconies, a long central paseo with benches anchored by a large community room on one end and a tot-lot with barbecue and picnic area on the other end. The six-building project is 100 percent affordable for incomes 60 percent or less below median family income (MFI). The Center for Community Innovation at the University of California, Berkeley selected Nuevo Amanecer Apartments as a finalist for the 2009 I. Donald Terner Prize, a biennale award that recognizes successful and innovative affordable housing projects and their leadership teams.

Construction Begins on New Mixed-Use Luxury Urban Community in Monrovia Designed by KTGY (2008-12-02)
Designed by KTGY, The Courtyards at Old Town in Monrovia, CA is a development of 163 luxury apartments and 6,000 SF of commercial office and retail space. Completion is expected by mid 2010.

Workforce Housing Project Has Broken Ground in Rancho Cucamonga; KTGY Selected as Architect (2008-10-20)
KTGY was named the architect of Villaggio at Route 66, a 166-unit mixed-income apartment community located in Rancho Cucamonga. The project, which has broken ground, will consist of one, two and three-story buildings with spacious two and three-bedroom units, as well as a 5,600-square-foot community building, two tot lots, a pool and fitness center, business center, and an education center for residents. Grading is currently underway and foundations and slabs are expected to be poured next month.

KTGY has added Michael Vickers to support Business Development efforts for the company’s Retail Studio in Denver, Colo. In this new position, Vickers is responsible for the office’s business development activities for the Retail Studio. The addition of Vickers will provide KTGY with the local resources to more effectively reach out to existing and prospective clients in the region. Karen Dry, Marketing/Business Development Director for KTGY’s Santa Monica studios, has earned two of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) top designations – Certified Active Adult Specialist in Housing (CAASH) and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS). Additionally, she will soon complete two additional designations – Certified Green Building Professional (CGP) and the prestigious Certified Graduate Associate (CGA) – by October 2008.
