Disability Laws Get Tougher in Texas after Latest Revelation Of Abuse (2009-06-23)
The recent abuse incidents in Texas have caused the State of Texas to toughen up the disability laws. Many in Texas are denied disability in the initial stage, actually there is a 60% denial rate. At the next stage, only 20% win. In the final hearing, a judge will have an informal hearing and decide what jobs a disabled person can perform, keeping more people from rightfully collecting disability. Those with attorneys fare far better than the normal statistics in disability cases and cases of abuse, when they are put in state run facilities.
