Recalling the days when she pulled washing through a ringer led Marta Hiatt to collect stories and photos of radio days, typewriters and telegrams, girdles and garters. Her interest in the past stems from years as a psychotherapist working with seniors. Hiatt compiled hundreds of stories and 250 photos in Remembrances of Times Past (Northern Star Press). For example, she tells of times when everyone had a party-line, shared with neighbors.
