The effort will culminate with what the company is calling “The Biggest Haircut Day of the Year,” a National Cut-a-Thon on Veterans’ Day, November 11, when $1 from every haircut service will be donated to Operation Uplink.

Sport Clips Creates Quite a Buzz with Six Orange County Stores (2007-08-01)
Wellington Franchise Systems, the area developer for Sport Clips in Orange County, Inland Empire and Southern Nevada, will soon have six stores open in Orange County. Sport Clips is a national sports-themed, hair care franchise for men and boys, where you can get a haircut, receive the MVP treatment, and watch sports on TV. Sport Clips celebrated the opening of its latest store on August 3, 2007 at the new Home Depot anchored The Arbor shopping center in Lake Forest, located at the northeast corner of El Toro and Rockfield. In Tustin, Sport Clips is planning to open a store on September 7, 2007 at The District at 2318 Park Avenue. By the end of 2007, Wellington plans to have at least 10 stores opened in Orange County and the Inland Empire.

Wellington debuted its first Orange County store in Huntington Beach in December 2006 and its second in Irvine in January 2007, which also serves as its corporate training store. Wellington Franchising Systems has acquired the development rights in Southern Nevada for Sport Clips, a sports-themed, national hair care franchise for men and boys, where you can get a haircut, receive the MVP treatment, and watch sports on TV. Wellington plans to open approximately 30 Sport Clips stores in Clark, Nye and Lincoln counties at the rate of at least five in the first year and 10 per year thereafter. Wellington will be responsible for recruiting and training new franchisees, as well as locating sites throughout Southern Nevada. Sport Clips stores range in size from 1,000 square feet to 1,500 square feet. There are currently five Sport Clips stores operating in the area.

Wellington Franchising Systems has been named the area developer for Texas-based Sport Clips, a national sports-themed, hair care franchise for men and boys, and plans to be one of the most active retail chains in southern California as the company plans to open more than 125 stores in Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Wellington has already signed five leases in Orange County, with the first two opening in mid December in Irvine and Huntington Beach. The company also has letters of intent for three locations in the Inland Empire.

Wellington Franchising Systems, LLC, the Orange-based area developer for Sport Clips, a national sports-themed, hair care franchise for men and boys, where you can get a haircut, receive the MVP treatment, and watch sports on TV, is opening its first two stores in Orange County, California in early December. The first store, slated to open is located in Huntington Beach at the Newland Center, 19710 Beach Boulevard. The other store is located in Irvine at the Woodbury Commons shopping center, 6274 Irvine Boulevard. The area development agreement calls for a minimum of 125 new stores to be opened in the area.
