(FPRC) October 15, 2005 -- ICANN accredited Registrar Secura is now accepting travel-domains for registration (https://www.domainregistry.de/travel-domains.html).

The travel-domain is the Internet top level domain exclusively for businesses, organizations and individuals in the travel industry. Registered domain names (Internet addresses) will have the extension “.travel,” like current domains such as “.com,” “.org” and “.net.” Each travel-domain will be unique.

The travel-domain will be a powerful marketing tool that will make it easy for your customers to find you. Travel domain names can only be used by verified businesses and organizations in the travel industry.

The travel-domain will reduce problems such as trademark infringement and cyber squatting. It will pioneer product and service listings and search using a custom directory tailored to the needs of the travel industry and its customers. The travel-domain will also have the most rigorous eligibility and name selection procedures yet developed. Careful screening of registrations will make it easier for customers to find you on the internet because the name they know you by will be your name in .travel.

Registrants interested in registering for travel-domains has to go through pre-authentication process in order to get authenticated for eligibility for travel-domains . This process can be done through either an authenticating association of which the customer is a member or through DUNS Number issued by D&B. The registrant logs on to http://www.tralliance.info/members.htm for a list of authenticating associations.

If the customer is not a member of such an association the registrant could get authenticated if it's company is a DUNS Number holder. If the registrant's company does not have a DUNS Number the registrant should log on to http://dnb.com and scroll down the radio button at the top of the the right part of the website to the country of your choice on the D&B Worldwide Sites window to receive such a number. Have a look at the left menu at "D&B Ressource" and click at "Get at D&B D-U-N-S Number".

Once the customer has the DUNS Number, the registrant should log on to http://www.authentication.travel/index.jsp?ap=db and start the authentication process. If the customers needs assistance with regard to authentication process the registrant should log on to http://www.tralliance.info/docs/PreAuthGuideV3.pdf

After successful authentication the customer will receive a confirmed Unique Identification Number (UIN) and a Names List with which the registrant should contact right away. This is very important. Only a .travel registrar can register the name that the customer is eligible to hold and contacting Secura immediately is important once you have finished your pre-authentication.

There could be authenticated multiple claimants to the same name and the allocation of domain name is based on “first come, first serve” basis. Therefore it is very important that the registrant register with Secura at the earliest once having the UIN and Names List.

Registrants should contact ICANN accredited Registrar Secura at the URL below in order to get the travel-domains that are wanted.
