January 13, 2006 (FPRC) -- Tim Blackburn, the film composer and electronica artist known as "mistrust" has a new 9-track album of chillout and downtempo classics available to download on the Music Freedom web label. The album is called "Making Movies" and is definitely worth checking out. All of mistrust's popular tracks are featured on the album, including "Never Alone" (inspired by the birth of his newborn son) and "Croydon Library".
Film Composer
Many of the tracks on the album, including "Never Alone" and "Croydon Library" have recently been licensed to O'Neill Europe and RipCurl, and have been featured in a documentary about the 2004 Tsunami, as part of O'Neill Europe's Deep Blue Open 2005 film. The music of mistrust is used brilliantly to capture the impact of the devastating tsunami and the beauty and power of the board surfers on the powerful waves. Mistrust's music is definitely soundtrack material, and is sure to be heard on some big budget feature in the near future.
Reviews
Mistrust has been prominent on internet music scene for a couple of years, and has received a number of excellent reviews both from fellow musicians and the music press. "Making Movies" is "drift music" which never coasts on autopilot, down-tempo compositions which refuse to be caught napping." (Nishi netlabel). "Worthy of a small label release" (Dan, AOM)
