Bay Shore, NY January 22, 2006 -- Savage Classical GT releases 9 new baroque lute sonatas by Silvius L. Weiss for classical guitar. Complete lute sonatas by Weiss have never before been offered to the world of classical guitar. Based on the London and Dresden Manuscripts of Weiss, these bodies of work are a magnificent opportunity for the classical guitarist to explore the genius of this baroque lutenist.

The transformation of music written for baroque lute to classical guitar is a difficult one at best. The tuning of 3rds and additional 5 to 7 lower courses (basses) of the baroque lute make a classical guitar transcription an improbable one. Yet, these works flow so easily off the fingers that classical guitarists will be amazed and gratified that this gorgeous music is finally available to them in complete sonata form.
