Sunrise Scents Candle Co. Introduces New Label Design for Scented Jar and Pillar Candle Line
They began their hand-poured scented candle business in May of 2005. Ten months and four labels later, Sunrise Scents Candle Co. has finally found a label they’re proud to display on their products.

Finding the right chemistry of product, packaging and promotion is key. A new label design may well prove to be the missing piece of the puzzle in branding their line of scented jar and pillar candles.
Like many small business entrepreneurs seeking an identity, Sunrise Scents Candle Co. has adapted, adjusted, and altered far more than they ever expected in their short ten months of business. Finding the right label design has been an elusive element to their business.
“Having a great product or exceptional service is only part of the puzzle,” admits Dawn, owner of Sunrise Scents. “People use candles to decorate. A pleasing fragrance needs a pleasing package as well. Our new labels compliment our rich scent and vibrant colors perfectly.”
The new label design should prove to be a hit with Sunrise Scents costumers. It features the silhouette of a sunrise over snow-capped mountains, characteristic of Fountain Green, Utah, where Dawn hand-pours her scented jar and pillar candles. “My local customers have already commented how much they love the hand-painted sparkly snow and the simple country charm of the new labels.”
As a small, family-owned business, Sunrise Scents is in no position to employ extensive market research or focus groups. “We’ll put the new labels on and see where it goes.” Dawn says optimistically.
What kind of impact will a new candle label have for Sunrise Scents in a market whose consumers practice such stringent brand loyalty?
“It isn’t.” Dawn is quick to acknowledge. “This isn’t about cutting into the profits of the Corporate Candle Companies out there, this is about making a candle I can be proud to put my name on. If it tempts someone to try one of my candle, that’s great. They won’t be disappointed.”

Sunrise Scents Candle Co. is a small, family owned business located in Fountain Green, Utah. Dawn and her husband Bob began Sunrise Scents in May of 2005 on a part-time basis. Their products include highly scented apothecary style jar candles, pillars, votives, tarts, and candle accessories. Each candle is hand-poured and available in a wide variety of fragrances, sizes, shapes, and textures.
