The Gig Of A Lifetime Contest
Starting in early February, Maximum Bands Entertainment out of Tampa FL is running a contest called Gig of a Lifetime. They will accept press kits from Unsigned Original Bands all over the US up until May 5th 2006 and then 5 finalists will be chosen to play in a Battle of the Bands to determine the winner of several prizes and an opportunity to open for Firehouse.

February 6, 2006 (FPRC) -- The Gig of a Lifetime Contest is a chance for unsigned original rock bands to play in front of a big crowd opening for a national touring act. The winner will also be playing in a showcase for Orlando based Label WP Records and will win several prizes.
All 5 finalists will play on Friday June 2nd at Bourbon Street Night Club in New Port Richey, FL in front of fans and judges from Maximum Bands and Sam Ash Music.
The Winner plays the following night at the same venue opening for Firehouse.

The Winner Receives -
*Play on 6/3/2006 in front of hundreds of fans at Bourbon Street in New Port Richey Florida for 40 minutes, opening for FIREHOUSE.
*$250.00 Band Accessory Prize Pack from Sam Ash Music, plus $3,000.00 per year in free gear sponsorship
*10 hours of free recording time at one of Tampa’s top digital studios - RedRoom Recorders.
*A showcase for WP Records executives who will be on hand to review and possibly sign the finalist on 6/3/2006

Contest Requirements -
Press Kit submittals will be judged on well written original songs with hooks, a tight sounding band, and a professional looking package overall.
Music Styles accepted: Hard Rock or Heavy Metal or Modern Melodic Hard Rock.
For example: Velvet Revolver, Judas Priest, Godsmack, Dream Theater, Green Day, Iron Maiden, Nickelback, Soundgarden, Disturbed, LIVE, Black Sabbath, Trapt, or Blink 182, etc..
No Death metal, Thrash metal, Hardcore Punk, Rap...Etc. will be accepted. Maximum Bands books ALL music styles, it's just this contest is not geared towards every style.
