Portugal conquered the first Cyber Games medal at the Samsung Euro Championships 2006, thanks to Pedro “Man_s” Tavares, one of the six K1ck eSports Club Portuguese representatives at the event.

Porto, Portugal – Portugal conquered the first Cyber Games medal at the Samsung Euro Championships 2006, thanks to Pedro “Man_s” Tavares, one of the six K1ck eSports Club Portuguese representatives at the event.
After beating the player from Austria, Man_s secured a presence at the Dead or Alive 4 final podium in the Samsung Euro Championship 2006 that took place in Hannover, March 9-12th. Reaching a medal in one of the most important international Cyber Games event, in Europe and Worldwide, is a novelty to the Portugueses eSports and something to cherish about. This was the most successful Portuguese participation at such events, with the final 11th place in the ranking amongst 22 countries.
With a more discrete participation in the WCG 2005 (World Cyber Games) that took place in Singapore, where he stood by the group stage but being the only player that won vs the Japonese representative that took the gold, Man_s accomplished a good SEC 2006 tournament, being really close to the Silver Medal that the French representative won, while the German, playing at home, got the Gold..
According to the K1ck Chairman of the Board, Pedro "Spirit" Fernandes, "We are very pleased with these results and Man_s was really unstopable in his way to the Winners Final. I think he will do even better in the next event".
