Tax Refunds: Local Firm Announces Free Second Opinion of Prepared Tax Returns Going Back Three Years

About 70 percent of tax returns, even those prepared by a professional, have over payments that can be recovered as far back as three years, according to the IRS. A local firm has offered to double check returns at no charge for additional tax refunds.

Amelia Island, Fla. -- Many business owners and managers are not aware of tax changes that could result in the recovery of taxes that were overpaid in past years, and a local company is offering a free service to help them obtain additional tax refunds.

"The IRS states that 73 percent of Americans overpay their taxes each year, and the U.S. Treasury estimates that people overpay by 25 percent," says Brian Bibb, principal and owner of Expense Recovery Advisors. "Most people don't realize that we can apply newly released tax laws and code changes to their last three years of taxes, often resulting in thousands of tax refund dollars that would otherwise have been missed."

By thoroughly reviewing the previous three years of tax returns for free, Expense Recovery Advisors locates omissions and errors, then files an amendment to recover the overpaid funds. Even returns prepared by a professional often have overpayments.

"Over 90 percent of businesses and individuals overpay expenses and taxes by thousands each year and are unaware of it," says Bibb. Our goal is to identify the overcharges and make sure they get it back. Our business is to find overpayments, obtain refunds, and improve our clients' bottom line."

Expense Recovery Advisors reports that most businesses are overpaying their basic operating expenses by an average of $20,000 or more. Areas where overpayments are commonly found include income taxes, telecommunications, credit card processing fees, insurance policies, waste disposal, utilities, and office leasing.

Bibb says customers pay nothing to get a second opinion about current and past tax returns. The company does not prepare returns. Instead they analyze returns for errors. Expense Recovery Advisors ensures them a tax refund of at least $1,000 and only receives a fee if that happens.

"Refunds average $8,900 per client and triple that for clients who earn more than $100,000 annually," Bibb says. Small business owners, self-employed individuals, independent contractors and rental property owners usually have the highest refunds, he added.
The company maintains a web site at http://www.ExpenseAdvisors.com. Expense Recovery Advisors, located at 3016 Persimmon Circle W in Amelia Island, is an affiliate of UBS Group Inc., one of the nation's leading tax and expense recovery companies serving the self-employed and business industry.
