April 26, 2006 (FPRC) -- Wells, Maine—Canbury Homes has announced the appointment of Frank Corbett as marketing director for the custom built modular home company.

While many construction companies have been faced with very little work, Canbury has been busy all winter. Modular homes are constructed in a “weather free” environment, so Canbury provides year-round employment for their skilled labor.

“We not only stayed busy this winter, we are growing. We needed to add a full-time marketing director who can help us continue this growth. Frank Corbett is professional, and knows how to work with our buyers to help them select the right home and features they want included,” said David Patterson, founder of Canbury Homes.

The company focuses on construction and design of custom built modular homes in the Portland and Yarmouth areas, and throughout York and Cumberland Counties.

Corbett says he focuses on providing information and follow through with interested buyers.

“Consumers who do not know anything about modular can easily make a wrong decision and end up with problems. Many people think that modular means cheap. That is completely wrong. Unfortunately some people buy a double wide mobile home and think they are getting a modular home. In this market you can get a really nice modular home that will appreciate in value, or you can end up with a mobile home that will depreciate in value. Hopefully people will check the information on our web site to avoid these misconceptions,” said Patterson.

Canbury Homes was founded by Patterson in 2003 and continues to be a local, family-run business. The company is focused on quality custom homes using modular construction and design. The process enables home owners to obtain higher quality for a lower price than traditional construction, according to Patterson.

“Generally, capes, ranches, colonials and other traditional style homes are much less expensive with modular. The entire process is faster, and the quality is higher than with traditional construction,” explained Patterson.

Home buyers who are unfamiliar with modular construction may be surprised when they see samples of custom homes. The company has available building lots, or can construct a home on a lot obtained by the buyer. Information on financing is also available on the web site.

“We want people to see for themselves that modular is the best type of construction for both quality and savings. I think most people have an idea what they want, and need just a bit of guidance. Often times they are looking for a little reassurance that they are making the right choice,” said Patterson.

The company maintains a web site at www.Canbury.com.
