June 22, 2006 (FPRC) -- JERUSALEM, ISRAEL - Minicom Advanced Systems, a leading manufacturer of KVM solutions for managing IT servers and devices, has revealed its enhanced DX system. The DX is a KVM matrix management switch that provides 24/7, out-of-band BIOS level management for the high-density server room and data center.

“The DX system is at the heart of Minicom’s out-of-band, multi-user product offering and is the ultimate analog/digital KVM solution for the high-density server environment” said Benny Hayumi, product manager for Minicom. “The GUI based centralized management system enables up to eight IT managers to simultaneously access hundreds of servers and network devices from any location. The upgraded system includes new high security settings, easy installation and configuration, and expanded 3rd party compatibility options to protect your legacy KVM investment. In addition, the enhanced DX is KVM.net enabled, allowing it to be seamlessly integrated with Minicom’s enterprise-level centralized IP management system.”

The DX 2.0 provides five major functions in one unified solution - KVM switching and control, Serial control, power management, user management, and remote access. These functions are optimized by AIM, Minicom’s Advanced Integrated Management interface - a hardware embedded GUI providing out-of-band, BIOS level access, topology-independent viewing, and point-and-click management for all KVM and Serial hardware in the data center. Other enhanced features of the DX include:

• Simplified device management including auto-detection of system devices, and database redundancy.
• Enhanced security via SNMP traps settings, lock configuration, and the ability to relate user names to their designated servers regardless of changes to their port configuration.
• Expanded compatibility options include built-in 3rd party support, direct hotkeys, and a cascading option for legacy switches.
• Seamless management via KVM.net, Minicom’s enterprise-level centralized IP management system.
