Bruins Fans Join Together to Bring Back Old Uniforms

The website, www.MyBostonBruins.com, encourages Bruins fans to voice their opinions, check out the various uniforms the Bruins have worn, and sign an internet petition addressed to Jeremy Jacobs and Bruins Management that addresses the need of a jersey change and the boycotting of current Bruins jerseys until a change has been made.

August 7, 2006 (FPRC) -- Boston, MA 8/7/06 – Remember the days of the Big Bad Bruins? When teams feared playing on Causeway Street? Most diehard Bruins fans spitefully do. It’s no secret that the Bruins have been less than competitive over the past few seasons, but off-season pickups like Zdeno Chara and Marc Savard, and promising returners like Patrice Bergeron and Brad Boyes, have put hope back into the Bruins faithful.

As fans drive by the newly named “TD Banknorth Garden” they can only hope that the building will have even half the memories as the one before it. One memory that fans are hoping to bring back from the old Garden is the uniforms. A few fans have come together and started a petition to have the Bruins uniforms reverted back to the days when making the playoffs were never a concern.

An excerpt of the petition reads, “With the Bruins organization attempting to move on from past years in the cellar of the Eastern Conference back to the team that was a certainty for a solid playoff spot, we believe there could not be a better way to support the new expression ‘New Team, Now Attitude’ than with a change in jerseys back to when the Bruins were loved and respected. The Bruins tradition has faltered over the past few seasons, something that should not be accepted by an Original Six Team. Let's go back to the years where the Bruins were feared around the league and the jerseys were worn on the back proudly by everyone on the roster and in the stands.”
