Poker Industry Online Auction Site to Benefit New Orleans' Katrina Recovery

Paradigm Poker Consultants, Inc., and former World Series of Poker(R) Tournament Director Steve Morrow are pleased to announce the launch of ThePokerAttic.com, a low-cost online auction site devoted to poker and the birthplace of poker, New Orleans. ThePokerAttic.com's auction fees end where the big sites' start, and sellers who attain "Preferred Seller" status, which is as simple as donating to the New Orleans recovery effort, will pay no auction fees whatsoever.

New Orleans, LA, August 25, 2006 (FPRC) --

As we approach the 1st Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina on August 29th, New Orleans remains a city in distress. Half its citizens still haven't returned, some never will. Many neighborhoods sit barren and blighted. The tax base has eroded and tourism has plummeted. The suicide rate has tripled. New Orleans desperately needs to recover its culture, its citizens, its tourists, and its soul. ThePokerAttic.com is dedicated to that effort.

The site will be managed by Paradigm Poker Consultants' founder and president Steve Morrow, a former World Series of Poker(R) Tournament Director, former Poker Room Manager for PokerStars.com, and a Katrina survivor. Morrow has seeded the auction site with personal memorabilia from his collection, including his never-worn PokerStars' Poker Room Manager's leather-sleeved Letterman's Jacket with a starting bid of $1 with no reserve, and a true collector's twist. Proceeds from the sale of these items will be donated to the New
Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund.

There is no fee to register or bid on items at ThePokerAttic.com.

A search of the term "poker" on one of the big auction sites can return upwards of 15,000 items for sale. The sellers of those items pay outrageous fees to the auction sites, do all the work, and don't even own their own business. Their customers all belong to the auction sites. Those sellers could attain "Preferred Seller" status at ThePokerAttic.com and pay no auction fees whatsoever through the end of 2007 by simply activating one auction before September 1, 2006, and then donating $45 or more to The New Orleans Musicians
Hurricane Relief Fund (http://www.nomhrf.org). NOMHRF will even send the seller a premium "ReNew Orleans" T-shirt for the donation.

Sellers at ThePokerAttic.com will also have access to a free e-book, written by a true legend in online auction sales, that will explain, step-by-step, how to grow their business, and "own" their business (and their customers), rather than just being "de facto" employees of the auction sites.

While ThePokerAttic.com is obviously oriented towards poker, there are few restrictions on the nature of items sold on the site and any registered member can suggest a new category for items they would like to sell. To learn more visit us at http://www.ThePokerAttic.com/.

About Steve Morrow:

In his 17 year career in poker, Steve Morrow has directed many major poker tournaments, including the 2002 World Series of Poker(R), and served as PokerStars.com's first Poker Room Manager. In 19 months under Morrow's guidance PokerStars grew from a near start-up to the 2nd largest site in the industry.

In 2002 Steve Morrow became the first and only person to direct the largest land-based poker tournament, the World Series of Poker(R), and the largest online tournament, the World Championship of Online Poker(R), in the same year.

In 2004, Morrow founded Paradigm Poker Consultants, Inc. (http://www.ParadigmPoker.com/), and traveled extensively as a consultant to the poker industry, until August 29th, 2005, and Hurricane Katrina. Morrow conceived the idea for ThePokerAttic.com to stay involved with the industry from the confines of his home in South Louisiana, where he cares for his wife's elderly parents, whose home was destroyed by Katrina.
