Tad Leach was born and raised in the Chicago area. After graduating from college with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration and working in the banking field, he joined the Wheeling (IL) Police Department. His experience includes Patrol, Juvenile, Detectives, Watch Commander, Records and Communications Supervisor, Administrative Sergeant and Acting Deputy Chief in charge of the Support Services Division. He then joined the Lincolnwood (IL) Police Department as Deputy Chief and was subsequently appointed Chief of Police. In that capacity he was responsible for the total police operation in a multi-ethnic suburb of Chicago, including joint dispatching for Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Lincolnwood is bordered on three sides by the City of Chicago and experiences a disproportionate amount of crime, traffic and calls for service activity to population due to location, socio-economic standing and business/commercial base
