Zmanda Opens Strategic Development Center in Pune, India

December 20, 2006 (FPRC) -- PUNE, 20th December 2006 – Zmanda Inc., the leader in open source backup and recovery software and headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, today announced the opening of its development center in Pune, India. The Pune office is a strategic location for Zmanda, leveraging the world-class software development talent residing in India. K. K. George, an industry veteran in storage software, manages the center.
“Pune, with its focus on open source, outstanding technology infrastructure, thriving storage software ecosystem and talented workforce, is an ideal place for Zmanda to set up its product development organization,” said Chander Kant, CEO of Zmanda. “The majority of our investment in engineering resources will be done in Pune, and we expect the Pune center to become Zmanda's development backbone.”
Zmanda also announced today the availability of a new release of its Zmanda Recovery Manager (ZRM) for MySQL product. This innovative open source project was designed and developed entirely by Zmanda's development team in Pune.
