Popular Equestrian Events this May Have Tourists Booking to the UK
More than half of UK hotels in Windsor and York are booked to capacity in light of the country’s two most popular equestrian events; the Royal Windsor Horse Show and the York races.

May 7, 2007 (FPRC) -- With two of England’s most popular equestrian events taking place in May, UK hotel bookings in local event areas are on the rise according to statistics at popular European hotel bookings site EuroBookings.com.
The Royal Windsor Horse Show, the first of the two events running from May 10 through May 13 at Windsor Home Park, is the largest outdoor equestrian show and attracts thousands of equestrian fans each year. Events include show jumping competitions, showmanship competitions, carriage driving, and Gymkhana, an action packed sport requiring speed and agility.
Beginning three days after the end of the Royal Windsor are the York races that last between May 16 and May 18. This upscale event draws a crowd of gentlemen in jackets and ties and women in dress hats who come to bet on the races.
“Currently, more than half of our 44 hotels in Windsor and more than 75% of hotels in York are booked to capacity during the dates of the event,” says Marcel Stillekens, co-owner of EuroBookings.com.
