May 7, 2007 (FPRC) -- IRVINE, CALIF. - Award-winning KTGY GROUP, INC., Architecture and Planning, is pleased to announce that three KTGY principals have been invited to speak at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Building for Boomers & Beyond: 50+ Housing Symposium, Beyond Trends to Real World Solutions in Denver, CO. The event will be held May 30 – June 1, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center.

David Obitz will be a panelist at the session “Moving Up: Opportunities with the Urban Mid-Rise” on Thursday, May 31, from 10:30 am – 12:00 noon. Obitz will address some key development, technical and market issues for the 50+ buyers as developers consider going vertical – perhaps for the first time – due to available site constraints. Obitz’s entire career has been dedicated to residential housing in every form. He is responsible for the design integrity from conceptual planning and schematic architecture to construction details on various multifamily projects throughout California and leads a team of designers who implement the client’s vision through the many phases of development.

Also on Thursday, from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm, Rob Williams, AIA, will be a panelist for “Kitchens and Master Suites: Two Keys to the Hearts of Boomers.” Williams will discuss the design and product directions for kitchens and baths with an emphasis on universal design and other lifestyle issues for the demanding Baby Boomers. Williams has over 20 years of architectural experience including residential, civic and commercial design. Much of Williams’ experience has been in the capacity of principal and lead designer responsible for a comprehensive range of projects from high-end custom residences, libraries, city halls, sheriff stations, temples, community centers and office buildings. He has the proven ability to present before homeowner’s associations, design review boards, planning commissions and city councils with positive results.

On Friday, June 1, Greg Lyon will be a panelist for “Tourism & Relocation – The New ‘Lifestyles’ of Active Adult Communities” from 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm. Lyon will discuss how KTGY has successfully designed active adult communities that seamlessly integrate resort, entertainment and hospitality amenities to create synergy between tourism and retiree relocation and an all-inclusive “lifestyle destination” for the residents. Lyon has an impressive list of project experience recognized throughout the country including Makar Properties’ Pacific City in Huntington Beach, Calif., a 31-acre master plan development that encompasses high-end retail, dining and entertainment, prime office space, upscale residential housing and a boutique hotel.
