Darcorp Makes Waves at the International Surf Day Beach Clean-Ups
Darcorp Properties helped the Surfrider Foundation in bringing environmental awareness to our oceans and beaches through a hosted beach clean-up in Laguna Beach.

June 26, 2007 (FPRC) -- Diamond Bar, CA - On June 21st, surfers across the world stood united in celebration of International Surfing Day. Founded three years ago, the event was created to give surfers across the globe an opportunity to celebrate the sport of surfing, as well as raise awareness of the need to protect the planet’s beach and coastal environments.
Darcorp Properties, Inc. also celebrated the day by taking part in one of the many environmental events hosted by the Surfrider Foundation throughout the day. From educational outreaches to beach clean-ups to native re-planting, surfers and other coastal enthusiasts showed themselves ready and willing to roll up their sleeves and pitch in.
“Many people on the beach asked us what we were doing out there, and were very thankful. This was our chance to bring awareness to the quality and cleanliness of our beaches that people are able to enjoy everyday” said leasing agent Suzy Mendoza, who attended an International Surfing Day beach clean-up in Laguna Beach with fellow Darcorp principles.
This year, International Surfing Day was formally celebrated in 80 separate events taking place in over a dozen countries, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Australia, New Zealand, The United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan and elsewhere. The Surfrider Foundation estimates that over 2,500 lbs of trash and litter were collected from this year’s International Surfing Day activities.
