July 2, 2007 (FPRC) -- "I Need to be SAFE: I’m Worth It! – How to Protect Your Child from Danger" (ISBN 978-0-9768273-2-0; CLASS Publications, June 1, 2006; Paperback: $19.95), shows children and parents how to deal with strangers, predators and attackers, using simple yet very effective survival and self-defense skills. "It is a unique approach to self-defense that gives children the necessary safety tools they need to be safe in any threatening situation, and shows parents how to work with their child using the step-by-step pictures and captions for each of the 32 physical self-defense techniques", says Janet Goliger. Learning how to be more aware of your surroundings, how to identify strangers, what to do when approached by a stranger, and safety levels are just some of the topics discussed in this book for children ages 8-years old – 14-years old. Physical techniques in this book are an added feature and the advanced techniques shown are also used in self-defense trainings for teens and adults.

"Children want to feel empowered", says Janet Goliger. "Learning simple yet effective ways to defend themselves in any threatening situation and practicing survival skills regularly will give them this confidence. The key to their survival is the ability to recognize danger before something happens, and the ability to flee if attacked by surprise. Children need to be more aware and ready to take action. Children must fight back."
