There are a number of methods to convert your files to digital format. These methods include large format scanning (raster), raster to vector conversion (software) and manual conversion (draftsman).
Large format scanning is your cheapest option. We scan architecture, engineering, construction mylars, sepias, linen, blueprints, paper, and vellum into raster formats such as tiff, jpeg, pdf, cals and other formats. These raster files may be viewed, plotted or printed – but not edited. Data entry and indexing services follow as requested to capture drawing number, sheet no, title, revision, etc for search and document retrieval.
Raster to vector conversion is a process that converts a scan of the drawing (raster) into a line drawing (vector) through a “software program”. Automatic raster-to-vector conversion is limited by the ability of the software application to make decisions that require intelligence (draftsman), therefore the many hours of additional work are required to get the drawing to an accurate CAD standard.

Manual conversion (draftsman) is a process where your files are manually drawn with precision to perfect CAD format. The cad conversion is dimensionally correct, layered to your specifications, into accurate working drawings. As requested, text is re-typed and drawings are re-scaled 1:1. Specified items are also converted to different layers and colors to conform to the drawing standards. The end result is a CAD file which is identical to the paper drawing and which requires no further work.
