Sydney, New South Wales, Australia (FPRC) August 3, 2007 -- Ralph Parker hails from Sydney. He is a bandsman turned solo country artist. Ralph has been a part of many bands, trio’s and duo’s since 1971. He is a talented musician who wanted to take his musical career to the next level and let me tell you, he has achieved that.
He's a person who unlike many of the big names in country music writes some of his own songs. Ralph has put back the tradition into country music that the world is longing for.
In early 2006 he decided to break away as a solo country singer and recorded two cover CD’s to test the waters. Those two CD’s “I’ll share my world with you” and “Tribute to Buck Owens” were pivotal in getting him the break he needed. In November 2006 Ralph was signed to an independent record label, “Universal Sound Records in Nashville and went over to the United States to record his first real country album A HIGH PRICE (for low living).
Mark Moseley, the best engineer in the business conducted the recordings at his Sound Control Studio in Nashville, TN. Renowned producer T Jae Christian of Paradise Hills Tennessee had this to say to Ralph. “I was delighted with your vocal performances, and knew right away that I could record a great country album on you here in Nashville!." You’re a fine country artist and a fine man also. I'm surely looking forward to recording a great album on you, and I know it will be a new shining star in your life”
The songs on Ralph’s CD are potential hits. A HIGH PRICE (for low living) brings to us that catchy four step, while; BURYING BONES BY THE DOZEN is a straight ahead rock and roll number. I don't listen to country radio because I am playing Ralph's songs over and over again which is a true reflection of what country music is really all about.
The ballads ANGEL'S DON'T STAY and AN OLD VALENTINE that Ralph penned and sang definitely have hit potential. To hear real country music from this great Australian country artist is phenomenal when compared to some of our modern day country singers.
Another rocker of Ralph's THINKIN' BOUT THE GOOD TIMES is reminiscent of what country music is like in Australia, a great up tempo song, but still never losing the tradition of real country music. The closing track on the CD PART TIME LOVER (full time fool) has established Ralph's prowess as a real country artist
To me Ralph's album is as good as you can hear on radio anywhere around the world. His voice is a blend of George Strait, George Jones, Buck Owens and Dwight Yoakam, a well developed persona with some serious twang for an Australian singer
The musicians that stand out all over this album are Nashville's, Danny Parks on Lead Guitar, Robby Turner and Sonny Garrish on Steel Guitar who's riffs just blow me away time and time again. Background vocalists Margie Cates and Alan Jackson’s back up singer Monty Allen are unmatched when it comes to vocal harmonies. Anyone who wants to have a real country feel to their music must have people like these in their band.
Admittedly Ralph has broken new ground with this album and every track is a winner. If you like real country music you should give this CD a chance. You will see that Ralph is destined for big time success. He's a genuine guy, in charge of his image, his music and most of all he is real country through and through.
