Providence, Rhode Island, USA (FPRC) August 5, 2007 -- George T. Marshall has announced that the 2007 Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) Forum will be held August 8-9th at the URI Feinstein Campus, 80 Washington Street in downtown Providence.

“Now is the time to get involved,” said Marshall. “The film industry here is growing in leaps and bounds, and while some states have cities that are imposing stricter rules on filmmaking, Rhode Island is growing more filmmaker friendly,” Marshall declared. “Some of these film production companies will probably relocate to Rhode Island, so if
you ever thought about getting involved in the multi-million dollar film industry here, or the benefits of using your town or business as a location for filming you should probably attend this symposium.”

The forum is expected to be the biggest ever and addresses the nuts and bolts of filmmaking including, “Why Rhode Island Is Right For Your Film” (perks, uniqueness, locations, resources and cutting red tape). “How To” sessions planned include Using the Rhode Island Film & Television Tax Credit, Basic Film & Entertainment Law, Technology in Post-Production, Film Financing & Distribution, Niche Films, Casting, Targeting Audiences and the tactics for reaching them and more.

The forum is open to anyone interested in any aspect of filmmaking. Attendees expected include aspiring filmmakers, artists, Filmmakers, Film Production Crews, Film Students, Artistic Directors, Film Vendors, Civic Organizations, Historic and Preservation Groups, Property Managers, Recreation Managers, Hotel Managers, Rental Agencies and representatives of various Rhode Island Cities & Towns.

A keynote luncheon will also be held during this event at 12:30 on August 9th at the Providence Biltmore Hotel Ballroom.
