5 Magazine Celebrates Two Years of Keeping House Music Alive

August 6, 2007 (FPRC) -- The minds behind 5 Magazine, the only monthly magazine in the United States dedicated strictly to House Music, celebrate their two year anniversary in August 2007 with a slamming new issue, available for free in the city of Chicago or by subscription through 5chicago.com.
Continuing to chronicle the best in the tradition of soulful House Music, our August 2007 issue features interviews with hot New York producer and DJ Dennis Ferrer and Chicago's own Anthony Nicholson, in addition to the music reviews, opinion columns, news and listings that keep the heart of Chicago House Music beating.
"Many said that we wouldn't make it," Managing Editor Terry Matthew said. "But we believe this is a thriving genre, a culture really, and that House Music artists had their own stories to tell."
To celebrate, 5 Magazine is hosting a two year anniversary party on Friday, August 10, 2007 at Zentra Nightclub (923 W. Weed, Chicago) from 9pm-4am. Admission is free before midnight with an RSVP to czarina@5chicago.com, $5 after. Entertainment for the evening includes our friends DJ Spinna from New York and the subject of the first ever cover story for 5 Magazine, DJ Lego.
5 Magazine began publication in August 2005, devoted entirely to House Music, and has published a new issue monthly ever since. Past cover stories have included Frankie Knuckles, Barbara Tucker, David Morales, Cajmere, Dajae, Steve "Silk" Hurley, Marques Wyatt and dozens of other established legends and up-and-coming artists in the worldwide House Music scene.
