October 9, 2007 (FPRC) -- A Rolex watch going on sale in Birmingham, UK, later this month could sell for as much as £15,000.

The staggering amount is the top value placed on it by auctioneers Fellows & Sons at http://www.fellows.co.uk.

It’s one of 472 items for sale in a specialist watch auction on Monday 22nd October 2007, starting at 11am.

“This is a truly beautiful watch” said managing partner Stephen Whittaker.

“There is a good reason some Rolex’s can sell for such high amounts, and that is the sheer quality and beauty of them. There are very few men who would not appreciate placing this onto their wrist every morning.”

The watch has been valued at between £10,000 and £15,000.

It is a gentleman’s platinum Oyster Perpetual Day-Date automatic chronometer wrist watch, with a silver blue dial and raised Roman numerals.

It displays the day in the 12 o’clock position and the date in the 3 o’clock position.

The watch has a domed bezel and president bracelet. It comes with its presentation box, booklet and spare link.

Fellows & Sons is 131 years old and does its sales in modern auction rooms in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

Thanks to a heavy investment in internet technology, anyone across the world can listen to the auction and make live bids for the antique watches: http://www.fellows.co.uk/Departments/Watches.asp.

You can view the full online catalogue at http://www.fellows.co.uk/ShowAuction.asp?sAuctionNumber=909.
