AdvantaPure’s Reinforced Silicone Hose Now Offered in Custom Colors for At-a-Glance Identification
Multi-layer silicone hose, called APSM, from AdvantaPure is now available in custom colors for easy recognition. Colored APSM makes line identification quicker, as it eliminates the need to read a label. It also allows for recognition anywhere along the entire length of hose, a great advantage in situations where time is critical. October 15, 2007 (FPRC) -- AdvantaPure is pleased to announce that its APSM reinforced silicone hose is now offered in custom colors for easy line recognition. Previously available only in white, APSM is used for applications involving elevated pressure levels in pharmaceutical, bioprocess, biomedical, food, beverage, chemical, cosmetic, and pure fluid transfer.
Color is a valuable tool for identification and may be used to signal capabilities or limitations, allow for instant recognition, create traceability, or improve safety. Process lines are quickly and easily known by sight, eliminating the need to read a label—a great advantage in situations when time is crucial. APSM in colors allows for identification anywhere along the length of the hose.
APSM is constructed of a core of low volatile, platinum-cured silicone for purity. The core is then wrapped in four layers of alternating polyester mesh fabric and additional silicone, with the outermost layer available in custom colors. These colors are part of the silicone material and will not rub off.
A versatile product, APSM is durable and heavy duty yet flexible, making it ideal for pressure-rated discharge applications. It may be sterilized by autoclave, CIP, SIP, and gamma radiation processes. The material has undergone extensive testing and meets USP Class VI, FDA, ISO, European Pharmacopoeia, and 3-A standards. APSM withstands temperatures from –100°F (-73°C) to 400°F (204°C).
In addition to custom-colored APSM, AdvantaPure is also able to offer a wire-reinforced version of the same hose, called APSW, in custom colors. The company provides services such as hose assemblies, electropolishing of fittings, and process component identification solutions as well.
