Bucharest, October 18, 2007 – AXIGEN (http://www.axigen.com), the professional messaging solution vendor, announced today the commercial release of the AXIGEN Mail Sever 5.0. The new version was released after a successful and challenging beta testing campaign, run under the “Work Smart, Play Hard!” slogan.

AXIGEN Mail Server 5.0 has a strong focus on Service Providers and large corporations with multiple branches. It thus comes with a range of new features aimed at rendering large scale administration tasks easy to manage or assign.

By further enhancing its carrier class technology and MultiPlatform architecture, AXIGEN proves its strategic orientation on Service Providers. Therefore, version 5.0 has been ported on the SPARC platform, one of the foundation architectures in the computer industry, proved to be one of the most widely accepted technology for systems in the financial, academic, industrial, mission critical, and certainly the Internet market.

Through its new web administration interface, AXIGEN 5.0 enhances the server usability and the overall user experience. The AXIGEN WebAdmin has undergone a complete reshape process to now feature a modern, user friendly design and to improve manageability and fine-tuning options. The WebMail interface has also been enhanced and is now available in 21 languages.

"Through this new release we once again prove our commitment to meeting the ever increasing requirements of highly challenging business environments, such as those of ISPs and multi-branch corporations. Future versions of AXIGEN will focus on implementing features that enhance mobility, efficiency and constructive time management, thus continuing the trend we are already on," said Oana Bornaz, AXIGEN CEO.

Version 5.0 of the AXIGEN Mail Server runs on several Linux and BSD distributions, on Solaris, on PowerPC and on SPARC architectures and signed technology partnerships with Sun Microsystems, RedHat, IBM and Avira. AXIGEN has recently won the ServerWatch 2007 Product Excellence Award for the Communications Server category, after having competed with four other messaging solutions – Zimbra, CommuniGate, Merak and Lotus.
