Hong Kong (FPRC) October 31, 2007 -- Oasis Hong Kong Airlines (Oasis) will tomorrow celebrate its first birthday, and a series of achievements that have taken the airline from strength to strength, ensuring it is on par with its far longer established competitors.

The world's only value-focused, long distance airline, Oasis launched on October 26 last year, taking 350 passengers on its inaugural flight to London.

One year on, Oasis has purchased five B747-400 aircraft and flown more than 250,000 passengers, on over 600 journeys between London and Hong Kong, and on its Vancouver route, launched this late summer. Travelling a total of 4,964,529 nautical miles in that time, Oasis has flown the equivalent distance of four trips to the moon and back, or 199 flights around the earth!

Confirming that Oasis is not only popular with its passengers, but also amongst its peers, it was last month voted Best New Service and Best Business Class Carrier at the World LC Airline Congress held in London, consolidating its position as the best choice in value-focused, long-distance travel.

The success, says Oasis' Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Miller, is due to the enormous support the Airline has received from the public.

"We have gone from strength to strength this year, thanks to the confidence our passengers have placed in us to provide them with a value-focused flight that does not compromise on any of the services expected on a long-distance journey," said Mr Miller.

"In the beginning, passengers were willing to give Oasis a try, which we really appreciate, but now, we are finding these same passengers are making repeat journeys on our flights, building a strong base of loyal customers.

"There are thousands of people who have now flown with us more than ten times over the last year! That kind of support means we are able to continue to offer a good value, alternative long-distance option to travelers, with everything you'd expect on other carriers."

Oasis is marking its first birthday with a host of festive celebrations and super travel offers.
