November 19, 2007 (FPRC) -- HT Mart, a leading provider of home theater products and resources launches a visual-based tool to help calculate the best seating distance in a home theater or media room. Until now, unless you were a wiz at math, it was difficult to determine the proper placement of seats. Now you can visually see the “sweet-spot”

Following on the positive feedback and success of their visual “16x9 Screen Size Calculator”, HT Mart decided to take the next step and create their new “16x9 Seating Distance Calculator.” Film Buffs are generally visually oriented, and the lack of a visual tool in the marketplace to display seating placement in a meaningful way also prompted the development.

The HDTV Seating Distance Calculator (16x9 Widescreen Aspect Ratio) is easy and simple to use. Simply input one of your screen dimensions (diagonal, width or height) and the tool will calculate the remaining dimensions while automatically drawing the screen size and chair placement in both the top and side views.

By adjusting the screen size and chair row spacing, a person can immediately see the affect these will have on determining the optimal seating location. Distance calculations are displayed in feet and inches with optimum viewing angles between 26 – 36 degrees.

"Consumers need as much information as possible when buying an HDTV set so they can get the viewing experience they expect," said Michael Silbergleid who runs TheVideoGuru.com. "That's why 'The Video Guru® Guide To Going Wide' recommends the HT Mart 16x9 Screen Size Calculator and the new Visual Seating Distance Calculator. It's with these tools that HDTV will deliver on its promise of fantastic television in every home."

By providing a variety of free online tools and guides, HT Mart hopes to give back to the home theater community by offering information and resources that may be of value to consumers.
