New Online Firm's Services Potentially Saves Customers Millions

Founded by Virgil Magee, a former Air Force officer stationed at Hurlburt Field, Card4UM gives consumers the opportunity to send actual greeting cards and invitations from the comfort of their home or office.

"I always forgot important days throughout the years," said Magee. " So, I thought it would be great to create a system that would allow me to not have to remember."

Since Card4UM is an online firm customers could basically visit the site, select what card or invitation they would like to send, type in their personal message, give the date they would like it sent and the address of its recipient, that's it.

Card4UM does the rest and the best part is the service, to include the card and postage cost, is cheaper than cards purchased at retail stores.

"When I founded this company I thought it was crazy for me to have to drive to the store, wait in line to purchase a card, drive home, address the envelope, write a message on the card, find stamps, mail it and hope it arrives on time," Magee said. "I just thought there had to be an easier way to do this, where I would not have to spend four or five dollars for a card plus take the time to buy stamps and get it in the mail."

The average cost of Card4UM cards, including postage, processing and mailing cost, is $2.40. Businesses can also use the service for staying in contact with their customers during the year.

"We recently added wedding invitations, bridal and wedding shower invitations and baby announcements to our inventory," said Magee. "As our business grows, we will be adding even more services and passing the savings on to the consumer."

When customers order wedding invitations, Card4UM.com even assembles them in addition to mailing them for the customer.

"We truly want to make life easier for our customers," said Magee. "If we can save them time and money then we have done our job."
