The Maynard Searches for Local Key Partner

Local craftsmen urged to come forward

 Print View

February 14, 2008 (FPRC) --
The Maynard, a soon to be opened boutique hotel in the heart of the Peak District, is searching for a key partner, literally! Local craftsmen are being asked to come forward with ideas if they think they can solve the The Maynard’s problem: to locate a company who can design and manufacture a set of bespoke key fobs for the new hotel rooms.

The 10-room boutique hotel room refurbishment is now well underway, and the management are concentrating on some of the minor detail that will set the hotel apart when it reopens in a few weeks. Paul Downing, director at The Maynard explains: “We always try and ‘shop local’ wherever possible. All the rooms will be different and will be refurbished to very high modern contemporary standards. Some of the finishing touches will be things like the room keys, which we are shifting our attention to now the bulk of the work to reshape the rooms is in progress.

”We had the idea that a nice locally crafted key fob would make a good talking point, however we have been unable as yet to find anyone locally with a great idea at a realistic price. The internet is a fantastic tool and of course there are many companies out there who can do individually crafted key fobs that would look great; as a last resort we may have to fall back on this and order from outside the area. We are not short of ideas ourselves, but at the moment we can’t seem to find anyone in Derbyshire or South Yorkshire who can do the job.” Anyone local who is interested in the challenge should call Paul Downing on 01433 630321.

The Maynard is offering local residents an exclusive money saving deal in celebration of the refurbishment which is due to be completed in a few weeks time. South Yorkshire and Derbyshire residents who book a table for two or more in The Maynard restaurant (evening only) will be treated to a “Buy one night get one free” offer in one of the ten en-suite luxury bedrooms, when the hotel re-opens its doors to guests in March. The offer is subject to availability. To book, you need to quote ‘Local resident’ and pop in to The Maynard, e-mail restaurant@themaynard.co.uk or call 01433 630321. You will need to give your postcode and address details to qualify for the offer. Usual Maynard Terms & Conditions apply. Bookings must be made and the offer redeemed by the end of May 2008.
Once you have expressed an interest in the offer, The Maynard will keep a reserve list and call you back to confirm your reservation, once an actual re-opening date is known for the hotel. You may eat in the restaurant any time, as The Maynard is still open for food and drink.

“We believe The Maynard will now be a leading attraction for Peak District tourism. We want to celebrate this success with our local customers,” Paul added.
