Francis Ford Coppola Winery and Gift Shop First to Sell Emerging Nankeen Brand

Napa,CA (FPRC) February 22, 2008 -- Nankeen is proud to announce the expansion of their cotton bags, totes, and accessory brand into select boutiques across the nation. Nankeen debuted in Francis Ford Coppola’s Rubicon Estate Winery and gift boutique of Napa Valley, CA on February 16, 2008 at their annual wine tasting event.

Francis Ford Coppola’s Rubicon Estate and Winery is a perfect fit for the expanding company. The carefully hand-chosen items of their Rubicon boutique have been individually selected with an emphasis on global shopping. Coppola will debut Nankeen at their annual wine tasting event. Nankeen fuses traditional Chinese hand-printed cotton, perfected over many dynasties, with its own fresh styles, shapes, and linings.

“We are excited to have our products more readily available to consumers.”, says Anne Page Designer and Co-Founder of the company. “It is really a touch/feel product because of the beautiful fabrics,” she says. Page believes this move into boutiques will only boost the company’s success as it will be easier for customers to access the product.

Nankeen, which celebrates it’s first anniversary in April, has enjoyed steady growth over the past year. Online sales continue to rise, and the company has benefited from numerous media coverage. “People just tend to spark to the product once they have seen it.” says Page. Nankeen which sells a variety of fashionable cotton accessories both for men and women, plans to expand into additional boutiques throughout the coming year. Each purchase of an item helps to save this endangered art form of soy paste resist, called “blue Nankeen”.
