March 4, 2008 (FPRC) -- Motivational speaker Chris Moon MBE completed a 1,284-mile charity trek across the UK. raising £1m for Leonard Cheshire, a charity which provides services for disabled people. Chris is a former Army officer whose right arm and leg were blown off by a landmine in Mozambique in 1995
Trevor Brooking, Director of the Football Association and sporting speaker was awarded the CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Angela Rippon, presenter and popular corporate host, was awarded an OBE for services to Broadcasting, the Arts and Charity.
Meteorologist Michael Fish, cricketer Bill Frindall and former football goalkeeper Bob Bevan were awarded MBE’s. All are humorous after dinner speakers.
