Knicks Lose to Hornets, 100-88

With the Knicks losing another game, Basketball fans wonder if MSG made a mistake by extending Isiah Thomas' contract.

March 11, 2008 (FPRC) -- The Knicks were defeated by the New Orleans Hornets at Madison Square Garden, 100-88. The team is in the middle of a 4 game home stand and Isiah Thomas' contract is coming to an end. Some people wonder if Madison Square Garden chairman, James Dolan, made a mistake by extending his contract. His decision to extend Thomas' contract has been scrutinized throughout the NBA.

The Knicks' losing streak comes at a bad time now that Stephon Marbury has been in the controversial spotlight. Even though Thomas told the press that Marbury would be attending the game, he didn't. As usual, Thomas wouldn't talk about the situation and didn't answer questions as to whether or not Marbury would be fined for not appearing. Lately, Thomas' most common response to questions about Marbury has been to ask him.

Even the Senior Vice President of MSG, Barry Watkin refused to comment on the matter. James Dolan doesn't seem to be willing to offer his opinion to the press either. Now the word on the street is that Marbury wants to leave the Knicks.

During the game, Jamal Crawford hit two free throws with 3:33 on the clock. However, New Orleans scored the last 10 points. Chris Paul scored 5 of them and played an important role in setting up his teammates for the other 5. The Knicks only got 15 points in the 4th quarter. David West got 19 points and 8 rebounds and Chandler had 15 points and 18 rebounds for the Hornets. Curry had 19 points and 8 rebounds, Crawford had 20 points and 6 assists and Nate Robinson had 17 points for the Knicks.
