BlueStar Distributes Cherry’s New Washable Keyboards

March 20, 2008 (FPRC) --BlueStar, the leading innovator in solutions-based distribution for Auto ID, Point-of-Sale, Mobility, and RFID products, is announcing its distribution of two new series of washable keyboards from Cherry Electrical Products. The keyboards are sealed and have a NEMA 4 rating, which enables healthcare providers to wash them with hospital-grade disinfectants and commercial anti-bacterial wipes.
Cherry’s new washable keyboard line consists of two models: the J84-2120 Series backlit model and the J84-2800 Series fully-sealed model. The J84-2120 features a compact, easy-to-wipe keytop that measures 11.4-in. wide by 6.4-in. high. It offers eight levels of brightness for the backlit keys and an integrated HulaPoint pointing device.
The J84-2800 Series keyboard offers a fully-sealed rubber casing suitable for rinsing and immersion with cleaning and disinfecting fluids. This full-sized model measures 16.7-in. x 7.5-in. high and features a 104-key US layout.
“The J84-2120 is suitable for a broad range of applications—not only medical, but also emergency vehicles, dirty and rugged industrial environments, and in vehicular fleet management to name a few,” says Sherry Jones, Distribution Manager for Cherry Electrical Products.
“In addition, the Cherry J84-2800 is squarely aimed at the medical environment. Tested for submersibility and compatibility with typical hospital cleaning agents, this keyboard is ready for heavy use,” says Mark Fraker, BlueStar’s VP of Marketing.
