Marketa Linden against women cutting in Africa and helping charity fund Asante Kenya to stop violence against persecution of Masai girls during V – day and 10th anniversary of Eve Ensler’s charity. Genital cutting is problem with African immigrants in UK and USA.

March 23, 2008 (FPRC) --Female genital mutilation or cutting is cruel practise of female organs’s removal and violation of the human rights of women. Supermodel and actress Marketa Linden will have public reading of Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler on 12th of April 2008 in London with charity auction of her T – shirt line Pioneer on eBay from 14th until 20th of April 2008. Google and eBay supported this hot problem by new settings and cooperation between companies in searching of auctioned stuff for charity. The public reading of Vagina Monologues is a part of V – day and as Eve Ensler’s charity bash with Oprah Winfrey etc in New Orleans, for support of female victims.
Marketa Linden will give her own money and all income fromten auctioned T – shirts on eBay for charity fund Asante Kenya [Asante = Thank you] launched in summer 2006 by Czech – Kenyan presenter of music TV Ocko Lejla Abbasova for project Foundation of Restoration of Family Value. Other ten T-shirts will go to charity sale for Katrina female victims and money will be sent by eBay straight to charity fund for Katrina. Income for Asante Kenya will be given by Marketa Linden face to face to Lejla Abbasova on 3rd of May 2008 in media presence in Prague and holding press conference about female genital mutilation or cutting [FGM, FGC] with presence of UN ambassador George Clooney. Project Foundation for Restoration of Family Value is supported in Czech republic on 22nd of May 2008 at Czech Fashion Centre in Prague with charity happening with Czech fashion designers.
The charity project Foundation for Restauration of Family Value for Asante Kenya is similar like microeconomic help by Benetton in Africa. The girls what refused cutting are outsiders and persecuted from own families, on the streets and without proper education. Asante Kenya helps poor children in slums with education, with sweet corn seeds for crops in future and for victims of FGM [FGC] with qualification, for example hairdresser.
The practise is forbidden in many African countries, but tradition is enduring in many societies. ,The genital cutting is prohibited in Kenya for girls under age of 18 from 2002, but mainly farmers in south western Kenya send their daughters for cutting still. The little child, between 1 week until 14 years old, is pushing to sit down and cutting woman who has high position and money in the tribe, removes her external female organs, without sterilisation, anestetic or proper and clean medical instrument. They use blunt knife in better case, scissors, tin lid, shells or sharp stones’, describes Marketa Linden.
Sisters Edna and Beatrice took their rights against parents to the law in Kenya with help of lawyer Ken Watula and they won. Asante Kenya supports victims ofmobbying in Naruku in SW Kenya. The house for victims is running by Masai man who married women from tribe what doesn’t use FGC and he converted to Christianity and became a priest. Lejla Abbasova grew up in former Czecoslovakia as British – Czech model Marketa Linden. Father of Lejla Abbasova becomes from Kenya and she has friends here and she explains:, Two thirds of my girlfriends here have genital mutilation as children and they know now it was unnecessary, they wanted to change it.’
FGM[FGC] is practiced mainly in Central Africa, from Senegal to Tanzania, for maintenance of cleaniness, feminity, promotion of social cohesion. FMC is known with three types, the most dangerous is the third type called clitoridectomia or infihuca – a removal of clitoris and labla minora and majora, sewing together, covering uretha and vagina and leaving a small hole for urine and menstrual fluid. According WHO 100 million women have this cruel torture and the number increases about 3 millions every year. This is not problem of Islam or Christian faith, it is old habit for ritual reasons. In African community the girl without FGC is still child and dirty. In society of nomad Masai there isn’t place for single woman and the girl without FGC can’t be married or she becomes the third wife of old man. If she refuses her FGC, she is pushed away from her community. The practise is danger for health. The women have problem with bleeding, infections, death after giving birth and HIV positive people, the problem of Africa.
,For ritual reason the knife isn’t washed, if, they use goat fat or cow urine. Than the vagina is sewed or used agave thorns. The wives of crusades in Middle Age have metal belts and without pain, those girls have pain like Jesus Christ with his thorn crown and cross. What will you choose, if you are Christian as me? Using condoms, when African men sleeping around and HIV positive believe from ritual tradition that sleeping with virgin will help their cure, or help with sexual transmitted diseases and abortion or kids hurt from birth with AIDS?’ says Marketa Linden. According NY Times article Pacifira Kemundo, who cuts female genitals in Masai community, asked where are traditional habits. Kenyan PM from tribe Kirii Katherine Niamata voted for old habit – FGC.
,OK, I am for individuality of nations, but, why does this lady use English first name? I am christened Marketa, because I was born in Czechia and I can be British from paternal side, I will not convert my name to English version Margaret. I can speak about genitals and women rights as rebel in upper class, but I will never ever sell family jewellery inherited from generation to generation, than I will go to work. I will do charity, because it is value and duty of upper class women. But, there are also children rights and article number 19 and 24 of this contract what was signed by all countries, except Somalia and USA. But in USA this is question for presidents nominees, mainly African born Barack Obama and woman Hillary Clinton’, says Marketa Linden. Some girls are tortuned with FGC and wars, like in Darfur, where George Clooney helped to stop conflict. With immigration, practising of FGC spreads to USA and Europe, especially to UK. In USA in 2006 Khalid Adem became the first man arrested who mutilated his daughter.
Kenya was British dominium before WWII and Kenyan people search in UK better life. Lejla Abbasova’s father studied in Czecoslovakia during communism and returned to Kenya. Marketa Linden visited in 2006 Kenyan young family in Langley, a part of Slough in Berkshire. ,They lived in skyscaper by name like my surname, Linden, in flat with two little girls and both worked in hospital and studied for better qualification. I liked during my visit to listen catching Christian songs on video and their dresses with turbans, but the man became from 11 kids from East London and he said, that some little girls are sent to Africa for this genital removal.’ Difficult was elimination of this problem in Kenya during 1950s with British colonial rule with tribes. When UNESCO did two years education campaign about FGC, the number of girls felt down about 25 per cent. ,They need better economical conditions and mainly, education and speak, speak about. Masai have lovely heritage and culture but this habit is against human rights. This is not for hygiene like with men, this practise makes, I am sorry, bleeding hole. The girl isn’t woman. It is like man without his organ or testes like eunuch. These African girls haven’t choice ,only work and educate herself and they need our charity work. I call lazy girls using rich men WAGinas.’
