KTGY’s Principal David Senden Selected to Participate in ULI Technical Advisory Panel to Recommend Highest and Best Use of Land in National City
David Senden, principal at KTGY GROUP, INC., Architecture and Planning, has been selected to participate in an Urban Land Institute’s Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) to assist the National City’s redevelopment agency in developing a master plan and a Transit Oriented Development for a 25-acre area within its Westside Special Plan Area. National City is located in Southern California’s San Diego County. The TAP’s goal is to develop creative solutions to a unique area that contains biological resources, existing industrial and commercial office uses, and is in walking distance to the trolley station. The panel has been asked to consider potential development that meets affordable housing goals, improves fiscal sustainability, and encourages multi-modal transit while considering any possible resulting conflicting interests or issues such as possible impact to the salt marsh.

March 31, 2008 (FPRC) -- IRVINE, CALIF. - KTGY GROUP, INC., Architecture and Planning, is pleased to announce David Senden, principal, has been selected to participate in an Urban Land Institute’s Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) to assist the National City’s redevelopment agency in developing a master plan and a Transit Oriented Development for a 25-acre area within its Westside Special Plan Area. The TAP will convene at National City’s City Hall on April 2-3, 2008. National City is located in Southern California’s San Diego County.
Senden is one of ten industry veterans who will participate in offering National City their suggestions and perspectives. In addition to Senden, the multi-disciplinary panel of experts will include land planners, developers, marketing experts, and brokers to determine the highest and best use for this particular area. Senden brings more than a dozen years of experience as an architectural designer and planner to the panel and will provide special insight into building massing, density and creative housing solutions.
“Our job during our two-day charrette is to come up with a plan that we can recommend to the city,” said Senden. “It is basically a brainstorming exercise with a panel of experts to help the city figure out what is in the city’s best interest for this area. We hope that, as impartial observers, we can help them wrestle with some pretty difficult land use issues.”
