April 10, 2008 (FPRC) -- Last month, the Idaho Travel Council chose the Teton Springs Resort, the area’s top choice in Idaho golf resorts, as the venue for its annual board meeting. During their visit, the council discussed the state of the Valley and would decide the fate of the area’s ability to tap into the state’s tourism advertising budget.

The Idaho Travel Council advises the state on how and where tourism dollars are allocated in ways that can best benefit the local and Idaho economy. A favorable impression by the Travel Council can result in the state’s allocation of funds to support the growth of additional services, facilities and infrastructure for the growth and sustainability of the Valley.

Karen Ballard, the director of tourism was quoted in the Teton Valley News as saying, “It’s pretty exciting to see the developments occurring. We’ve always appreciated the area, but it’s exciting to see a new product coming along. To see that kind of quality is something the state will be pretty proud to promote.”

The group started out with a gourmet breakfast at the Headwaters Grille, located at Teton Springs, and then toured up and down the valley stopping at various spots along the way. They arrived back at Teton Springs to find an exhibition room filled with displays from a variety of businesses and community groups.

Local professionals from around the Valley set up posters, brought in their artwork, craftsmanship and product, and had representatives to explain their business. Also discussed were future building plans that will expand the downtown areas within the next year.

The Tourism Council chose the Teton Springs Resort not only because of its area authenticity, but also for the Idaho golf resorts superb meeting and event facilities. The Teton Springs Resort clubhouse is designed to serve as a banquet and catering facility and it’s 3,000 square feet of conferencing space includes 5 break out rooms equipped with state of the art technology capabilities.

Beyond the functional, Teton Springs Resort is designed with an ambiance that captures and compliments the area’s natural beauty. The clubhouse’s walk-out patio and fire rings set against the backdrop of the Grand Teton Mountains makes for a venue that is both functional and elegant.

Teton Valley residents and business owners, as well as area visitors, will all benefit from the recognition by the Idaho Tourism Council. The positive recommendation proves a positive step for the future of this small piece of paradise
