April 14, 2008 (FPRC) -- The recently named North American representative of Skyray Instrument Inc, has launched their technical website; www.skyrayxrf.com. The Skyray XRF website features overviews of energy dispersive x-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) technology and the non-destructive XRF instruments that are available through the organization. In future weeks the website will include regular XRF-Blog articles covering a variety of topics. The blog will feature updates on x-ray technology, applications and “real-world” reviews from users of Skyray XRF instruments.
Also included on the website are applications pages that focus on common uses of portable and desktop Skyray XRF instruments. These pages include an overview of an individual application, reasons why x-ray fluorescence is a preferred testing method and Skyray XRF instruments that should be considered for that application. This is a non-destructive method used for a variety of analysis throughout industries including jewelry, construction, toy and importing, etc. Recently, x-ray fluorescence has been used often for hazardous substance detection; lead, cadmium and other toxic metals are affecting health and XRF provides a non-destructive method to quickly and accurately detect hazardous levels.
The Pocket-II, a handheld instrument, provides hazardous substance detection under the regulated parts-per-million (ppm) and various “out of laboratory” analysis (mining and environmental applications) while desktop units perform hazardous substance detection, coating thickness measurements, alloy identification, gold karat analysis and more.
Skyray Instrument Inc is an international leader in x-ray fluorescence manufacturing and technology. Skyray XRF is the exclusive North American representative and can be contacted by phone (716-204-2388) or through the newly launched website (www.skyrayxrf.com).
