April 24, 2008 (FPRC) -- Dr. Dan Fitzpatrick, Director of Medical Sciences at Amgen will be speaking at GTCbio’s 2nd Annual Rediscovering Biomarkers on July 10-11, 2008 in Boston, MA. Dr. Fitzpatrick will present on “Biomarker Sample Collection & Handling: the Phantom Menace.”
The disparate - and often novel - sample types employed in pharmacodynamic biomarker strategies are saddled with their own unique sources of preanalytical variance. Several case studies will be presented demonstrating some of these sources of variance and our own resolution of the issues. A perspective will be provided on developing a consolidated approach to tackling what are effectively a series of case-by-case obstacles.
The 2nd Annual Rediscovering Biomarkers Conference will expose attendees to the latest advancements and developments in biomarkers and predictive medicine. Attendees will gain insight into discovery and development processes, hear about new biomarkers and upcoming trends in the industry, as well as the status of those in clinical trials.
