April 24, 2008 (FPRC) --
There are well over a billion USB connection devices on the market. Unfortunately many of them are topless, said company President Charlotte Terry. These include MP3 players, digital cameras, computers, scanners, printers and other peripherals. The wonderful flash drives people depend on are also commonly called-- thumb drives, travel drives, portable drives or memory sticks.

With so many USB products on the market, why are those little plastic caps that protect them so hard to find? How many of us have lost the caps to our flash drives--only to find that obtaining a replacement can be surprisingly difficult. It seems like such a simple request.

The RooKaps caps are available in clear or five translucent colors. According to the company's President, "what differentiates RooKaps from standard USB caps is the soft and durable material has ESD (electrostatic dissipative) properties and a snug sheath-like fit." Both product lines are reasonably priced and available online at http://www.rookaps.com

The caps for USB devices are small, but the consequences of losing them can be disastrous. Dust and grime which accumulates in USB devices can render them inoperable and unrecognizable by a computer. In this case a simple fix might be a spray of compressed air.

It is true that USB devices such as flash drives are becoming less expensive everyday. A quick search on eBay can result in a 2 gigabyte drive for about $25. Lower prices are always great! But if you already have a flash drive that has been your trusty sidekick and the keeper of so much valuable data, having it become inoperable can be a real headache
