May 4, 2008 (FPRC) -- Click Manageware, a global leader in Managed Streamware Services plc, today announced support for the Microsoft program amending the Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA). The new program allows service providers to stream Microsoft Office 2007 for delivery through a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.

"We are pleased that Microsoft has set a date for allowing service providers to stream Microsoft Office,” said Dave Moore, CEO of Click Manageware. "We have signed contracts with a number of providers and have been waiting for the amended SPLA Agreements to roll out new services. Our partners and resellers are poised to take advantage of the new business opportunities on day one. We believe that Microsoft has taken a bold step and we are behind them 100% in their decision to amend the SPLA agreement to allow streaming of applications.”

No need to buy the boxed product and no contract ties
CyberTrak Software will use Click Manageware Managed Streamware Services to stream Microsoft Office 2007 so that it can be offered through a Software as a Service model.

“Customers simply sign up for the service and have access to Microsoft Office 2007 direct to their PC for a manageable monthly price, without the need to buy the boxed product – potentially saving hundreds of pounds in up-front expenditure,” said Darren Brown, CEO of CyberTrak Software. “There is no minimum contract, giving customers the freedom to use the products on a month by month basis. Customers have access to the latest versions of the software, so when Office 2009 is released, they can have that streamed to their PC at no extra cost.”

What is Application Streaming?
Application streaming significantly accelerates the distribution of software and is an alternative to completely installing a Windows®-based program on a PC

The concept behind application streaming is similar to music or video streaming. The application is streamed from a central server where only the parts of the application required by the user are installed for immediate use. As additional functionality is required by the user, these portions of the application are streamed on demand. When the user has finished with the application, and chooses to do so, all components are completely removed from the client, as if the application was never there.

Applications Available Anywhere, to Anyone, at Any Time
Application streaming allows all applications to be instantly available to any user, anywhere in the world. Users’ requests for delivering and updating applications will become a distant memory. Whether the user is on their own machine or that of a colleague, applications are available for immediate use. IT administrators simply manage user groups to determine which set of applications are available to each.
