May 7, 2008 (FPRC) -- ABAS Software, a leading provider of cost-effective ERP and eBusiness solutions, announces that IT services provider, Sicom AG, and Wöfle GmbH, a systems supplier for cabin production, have both selected abas Business Software to run their business processes. Both agreements were reached at the ongoing Hannover Fair, which runs through Friday, April 25.

Adjustable ease convinces Sicom to choose abas.
Sicom offers a wide range of IT services, from data security and data protection, to terminal technology and the linking of subsidiaries to virtual office locations. "Our legacy system was no longer able to depict our highly-specialized processes, nor satisfy our data protection procedures," remarks Jürgen Schuler, Managing Director.

This led Sicom to search for a new system at the close of 2006. After researching online and walking the trade shows, several providers were invited to present their systems. In the end, Sicom voted in favor of abas Business Software. “The system’s adjustability impressed us most. After some training we will be able to do most of the adjustments ourselves. The service competence offered through implementation partner ABAS Informationssysteme also convinced us to go with abas.”

ABAS’s strong relationship with Linux also played a role in Sicom’s selection of abas Business Software. Though platform-independent, approximately 80% of all installations to-date are on Linux. “We are very impressed with the performance and stability of the "penguin operating system," continues Schuler, “this was another plus for ABAS, the Linux pioneer."

Sicom is also hoping to gain from the integration of its internal ticket system and JPM software with abas. A shortcoming of the previous solution was its lack of transparency i.e. manual transfers from one system to another resulted in repeated errors. Going forward with abas, data will be entered just once―eliminating errors, as well as saving time.

Wölfle wanted a system that would let it expand abroad.
As its prior ERP system reached its limit, Wölfle embarked on the search for a replacement system that could easily and quickly adjust to its changing business environment, including an ongoing expansion both within Germany and abroad. Important aspects in the selection process were flexibility, multilingualism and a system that would guarantee further expansion, while still maintaining Wölfle’s high standards of quality. Wölfle found exactly what it was looking for in abas. The system will be implemented for 150 users by software partner, ABAS Informationssysteme.

Wölfle is a midsize company specialized in the supply of systems for cabin production. Its extensive product range varies from cabin module and includes wiring systems, complete electrical systems, electronic displays and control systems, vehicle heaters and air conditioning, protection ventilation and dust filter systems for fully trimmed and plug-finished cabins.
