May 14, 2008 (FPRC) -- The producers of Today’s Family are pleased to announce that Northfield Retirement Community will be featured in an upcoming episode as part of the show’s Touching Hearts and Changing Lives series on Seniors and Assisted Daily Living.
The Northfield Retirement Community, based in Northfield, MN, 35 minutes from Minneapolis/St. Paul, is designed for residents to function as independently as they are able, while providing the assistance they need. Situated on a 36-plus-acre beautifully landscaped campus, the retirement community offers a variety of housing complexes and amenities to meet the physical, social, psychological, and spiritual needs of older adults. Apartments are available for independent seniors with an active life style at both market and limited income rates, as well as other living arrangements that provide increasing levels of service and care. There is also a chapel on campus for Vespers and Sunday worship.

For the active retiree, the Parkview West apartments offer attractive one and two bedroom apartments with full kitchens and baths. The complex also has an elevator, Internet access, complimentary laundry facilities, a private dining room for family gatherings, and a weekly exercise program. Meal, housekeeping and laundry services are optional, and there is also an onsite hair salon, home care, electronic garages, and van transportation to medical and dental appointments, shopping and special events.

Parkview East is for seniors who need assistance with their personal and health care needs. Northfield Manor is a federally funded property that offers comfortable one- bedroom apartments, each equipped with an urgency call cord. The Cannon Valley Suites are for those who need a greater level of health services. All the typical amenities are offered as well as a personalized health care service plan developed in partnership with a nurse for each Care Suite resident. At Northfield Care Center, 24- hour nursing services are available, as well as a weekly therapeutic whirlpool bath.

The Northfield Retirement Community has been caring for its residents since 1969 and has a long-standing affiliation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as a Social Ministry Organization.
