May 19, 2008 (FPRC) -- Peak District hotel and restaurant, The Maynard, is now open at breakfast-time to non-residents for the first time. The restaurant has been opened up to the public in the mornings following the hotel’s boutique refurbishment and consistently positive feedback about the new breakfast menu.

Breakfast highlights at The Maynard include a full Derbyshire cooked breakfast hailed as being one of the best for miles around. Healthier options are also available, as director Paul Downing explains:

”One recent hotel guest said it was the best cooked breakfast he had been served for years, and that it was probably the best cooked breakfast available anywhere in the region. We’ve no evidence to validate the claim either way of course, although we’re pleased to be hitting standards of food that warrant that type of comment.

”The full Derbyshire Breakfast including local sausage and black pudding is certainly a favourite among hotel guests. If you want something lighter there’s a wide selection to choose from, including smoked salmon, and fresh fruit to help you achieve your ‘5 a day’. Since gaining our second AA rosette we have been looking at different ways of marketing the restaurant, and opening it up for breakfast to non-residents is a natural progression.

”There can be few more relaxing and pleasant places to enjoy breakfast in the fine weather than overlooking our gardens and the Derwent Valley. There’s plenty of parking, we’re right by the train station and we have arguably the best location in the Peak District. Pop in and have a look for yourself; we are now open for breakfast from 7.00am-10.30am.”
